Katie was diagnosed with a serious complex heart condition in March 2012. Since then she has been found to have a two further heart problems, hypermobility spectrum disorder / hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Katie has not let any of this get in the way of her achievements and set up her own fundraising body to raise money for equipment for other children like her, and public access defibrillators in the community.
