Travelteer is a non-profit organisation who empowers under-developed projects and communities in Sri Lanka, from teaching local schoolchildren to read and write to wildlife conservation. All the funds are raised by volunteers who participate in their volunteering programmes.

In July 2019, I will be flying out to Sri Lanka with a group of people from my college to volunteer for two weeks on a marine and wildlife programme. Whilst I am there, I will be helping at a turtle hatchery, replanting the rainforest, helping local people farm and cleaning up rivers and beaches. Currently, Travelteer and its volunteers have raised £13,000, which has allowed them to release more than a thousand turtles back into the wild and replant thousands of trees.
