Hi, Myself and family are holding a fundraising event to support Somerset Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the hope of raising funds towards a new incubator for Musgrove hospital. This event will be held at Winchester farm (Cheddar car boot) on Monday 27th August 2018. 10am - 4:30pm.

This is why we would like to raise money towards Musgrove NICU

Charlotte was born healthy at 38 weeks and sent home the same day but within 24 hours she had started wheezing and had turned blue. A midwife came to check on her at home and she was blue lighted to Musgrove hospital with a suspected infection. Once we arrived we were told that she in fact had a pneumothorax (a hole/holes in her lung) and her lungs were being crushed by the air that had escaped in to her chest. She spent the first week of her life with a chest drain in her side and had round the clock care. We (her parents) were able to stay at the hospital with her for the two weeks it took to make her fully stable again and we cannot thank the staff in the NICU at Musgrove park hospital enough! If everyone hadn't acted so quickly we could have lost our baby girl 😔 we were kept constantly updated and were included in her care as much as possible and the work they do is absolutely amazing so we would love to encourage as many people as possible to come along to enjoy and support our fundraising day.
