Hi Everyone,

I currently study Animal Behaviour at LJMU and I have set up a 'justgiving' page to help me fund my undergraduate summer placement. I have been offered the opportunity to travel to Tanzania and work with chimpanzees. This is an amazing and rare opportunity, which would open up a huge range of options for me after I graduate.

My summer placement will range from 1-2 months, and I will be learning how to record and exhibit research with the Greater Mahale Ecosystem Research and Conservation project. My research will be focusing on the behaviour of wild chimpanzees in the surrounding area. I can then use this experience to write my dissertation in my final year of study. The expensive and important part of this is my research permit, which costs around £1,500 and is essential if I hope to conduct research on primate behaviour over the course of my placement. My 'justgiving' page is set up as a way to help me raise the money for my research permit, so I can take part in the conservation and understanding of these amazing animals. I didn't expect it to be as expensive as it is, and without it I won't be able to go to Tanzania and experience this incredible and rare opportunity.
