I have created this page for my mom. As many of you know my mom has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. After the previous year having major surgery/full hysterectomy to remove a tumour, this was the last thing we thought would happen all within 12 months.
My mom is a single parent & is a carer for my brother, she always puts us before anybody, being with me & supporting me all through my dancing life. It's horrible to see her go through this, it's so tough, I wish I could take it away. I am so proud of her strength & positivity, she never asks for help, although I know she is struggling financially & emotionally & this would help her tremendously, giving her something less to worry about, relieving the pressure she is having to buy things she needs to help her a long the way.
On 31st December she went through a 6 hour operation involving a half mastectomy, mammoplasty & reduction symmeterisation on other side. Coming home with 2 drains attached to her & a machine which needed plugging in 24 hours a day. During surgery they removed lymph nodes to be tested. On Friday 18th January she went back for results which were unfortunately not the outcome we wanted. She now has to have more surgery beginning of Feb followed by chemotherapy & herceptin, then onto radiotherapy followed by endocrine treatment. Such a long process to go through. She is taking one day at a time & is determined to beat this. Throughout this she has remained positive & strong! My mom, my best friend, my inspiration!
