    Story

Ben and I wanted to raise money for charity in memory of our Nan (Cherry Wallond). Nan worked hard all her life and was able to fund much of the care that she received at Westall House. The wonderful care that she was given enhanced her life and allowed us, as her grandchildren, to enjoy spending precious time with her that we might not otherwise have had. However, this care cost our Nan her life savings and when she passed away we weren't able to carry out her last wishes which was for Kidney Care UK and St Peter & St James to receive £1000 each.

In order to rectify this situation Ben and I decided to take matters in to our own hands and have entered the UltraChallenge of running (& walking) 50km across the North Downs from Farnham to Reigate. This will include a challenging climb up summit of the North Downs, Box Hill. The elevation at Box Hill is between 200 & 224 metres. To make the challenge more challenging Ben and I plan to run up Box Hill!! (whose daft idea was that? !)

The love and care that nan received at Westall House cannot be compared to any other care home we've ever known. The love, support and compassion that the team there shows knows no bounds. To thank the staff for all they've done we want to raise an extra £1000 in Nan's memory which will be donated to their residents charity fund 'Friends of Westall House'. The 'Friends' supported Nan throughout her time there and help many residents when they are in need.

Please help us to raise £3000 in support of these very worthy charities. Whatever you can give us will be greatly appreciated by us all.

We thank you for your support.
