8 months ago Dani who is both the girls dance teacher and my very good friend got diagnosed with secondary breast cancer which has unfortunately also spread to her bones and liver. Despite undergoing weekly chemo for 5 months she has continued to work as much as she can amd be there to support the 400 plus children that attend her dance school. The children adore her and she is a pivotal person in so many people’s lives.

Dani is a fighter, she is brave and courageous and has not even in the knowledge that her cancer is not curable waivered in her strength and determination to push herself to do even more now than she has done before. She is an inspiration to so many and is a true example of how not to allow cancer define you and what life you lead. After promising I would never do another half marathon again I decided I needed to do it for such a good cause but I promised myself that I was gonna push myself as hard as I could so I could do Dani justice. Through the past three months of training there gave been many times when I have wanted to stop or give up and everytime I bring myself back to what Dani does everyday and this keeps me going.

When people ask me what i’m raising money for I guess there is not a straightforward answer. Whether its to just help pay towards the millions of herbal tablets Dani guzzles down her neck every day or even towards her enjoying a day out with her beautiful family making special memories, I would just like to know I did something to help make life a little bit easier. I would be so grateful for any support and will run as fast I can for such a good cause. 💕
