My childrens school (Beaminster St Marys Academy) will soon be getting some chickens as part of their school eco plan, but have to fundraise first!

The chickens will be kept in a very large house and large fenced grassy area and the children will be involved in their care and as a result will learn lots of skills, as well as learning about animal welfare. The school want children to get out of the classrooms and into the fresh air and the children can do their learning alongside the chickens.

This project has so many possibilities and the children at the school are very excited about it.

Research has found that animals can have a really positive impact on childrens emotional health too!

We now need to raise the money to buy the chickens house and buy the materials to build the run and would really appreciate any donations.
