I am walking the West Highland Way (a 96 mile trek from Glasgow to Fort William) with my auntie in July and I would really love to raise money for the Islay Dog-Rescue organisation in Cumnock, Ayrshire. The rescue center is ran by a lady called Lorraine Jardine who opened the shelter in 2011. She took it upon herself to rescue dogs on "death row" from dog pounds and care for them in her shelter with the help of dedicated volunteers and hopefully in the long run have people adopt the rescued dogs. Lorraine has progressed so much over the years and has recently managed to build new kennels for the rescued dogs so that she can accept more dogs instead of having to turn them away.

The reason I have chosen this organisation is that I think what Lorraine has decided to do for these animals is truly amazing and I really want to help the shelter in anyway I can and I hope I can reach my target of £500 to donate the money straight to the shelter for whatever it may require. This organisation is very close to home and being a very big animal lover (especially dogs), I could not think of a better cause to raise money for.
