Hi lovelies! Next summer, I will be taking on a 4-week adventure in Sri Lanka, volunteering with an incredible company called SLV Global. The programme focuses on mental health, with projects in psychiatric hospitals and residential care homes as well as community projects teaching English. All the projects aim to promote positive mental health, boost self-esteem and improve key life skills in people of various ages, abilities and backgrounds. There is an obvious deficit for mental health and special needs in developing countries and we aim to make a difference.

SLV Global is a particularly incredible opportunity for me; it was created by psychology-graduates who knew how difficult it can be to get hands-on experience in this field of study and as a psychology student myself this will be an amazing chance for me to further my study and improve my skills for future career paths.

The funds I hope to raise for this project will go towards supporting the programme, including important training, workshops and talks to change the view on mental health and make a difference. In addition, the funding will go towards fun activities for the young people at risk and improving their skills for a brighter future. It truly is such an important cause, which I am a very passionate about and I cannot wait to be a part of such an incredible project. I would be SO grateful for any donations- every penny counts and will be going towards a great cause!
