Story
Chloe is a fun loving, happy nine year old who is always smiling. She loves life and forms friendships where ever she goes. She had meningitis as a 3 month old baby which resulted in her having her foot and hand amputated. The meningitis also resulted in brain injury leaving her with memory issues and learning difficulties as well as the malformation of all the joints on both legs and one arm and growrh in these limbs completely stopped when she was 4.
Chloe has a prosthetic limb with unicorns on and she loves to run and jump and ride her adapted bike like any other child But because of her difficulties she falls every few steps and tires very easily and frequently needs to use a wheelchair.
However because she can’t really propel herself in a chair she has to be pushed everywhere which is restrictive for her, especially as she gets older.
She has seen a lightweight all terrain chair with a motorised attachment that would give her the freedom she needs and hopes we can raise money for it.
this chair would really help me and make things easier for me too and mummy would be right next to me. “
Chloe also loves swimming. It is really good exercise for her as her joints can dislocate or lock so she needs to build the muscles to support her as she grows and prevent dislocation. Because of her amputations and because she cannot straighten her legs it is quite difficult for her and a specialised prosthetic swim fin for her leg and hand would make a huge difference to her. This is something that would hve to be made specially for her so would cost a couple of thousand. We have raised enough money for the chair but we have had so much support so we are hoping to keep going and raise the money so we can have these prosthetics made.
THANK YOU SO MUCH

5 years agoHello and a big thank you to everyone. Everyone has been so generous and supportive. We have reached our original target so I can order the wheelchair hooray. We still have our 24 hour knitathon and I know people have raised money for that plus a coffee morning by a local church at the end of July so any extra money will help buy the extra all terrain wheels we would really like and would be great so Chloe can really get out and about but I didn’t dare think we’d get there but thank you to you all we have.
