    Story

    Hull 1/2 Marathon 02.06.19
    Doncaster 1/2 Marathon 09.06.19

This year I have decided to do something a little out of my comfort zone, something that I hope will make a difference for Daniel and his parents. Also for the hospice in which my grandma stayed.

Over the last few years I have been following the courageous little boy, when I see his face brightens up my day. Daniel is two years old and has a number of life limiting conditions including quadriplegic cerebral palsy, complex epilepsy, chronic lung disease, vision and hearing impairments. He is also non-mobile and needs round the clock care as he is unable to swallow.

Every day is precious to his family and they spend their days, together with friends and supporters (Team Daniel) fighting and fundraising to help keep him comfortable and to reduce pain through specialised treatments and therapies.

Every time I see a post on Facebook he melts my heart. So I thought I’d try and raise money for him.

Earlier in the year I lost a lady very dear to me my Grandma Katie. A lady who for 35 years made massive impact on my life. A lady who courageously battled her illness with pride and honour right to the end. She’d been quite poorly for the past couple of years and she entered The St Johns Hospice in Doncaster after a long stay in DRI and a night at home.

I couldn’t believe the care that she received at St Johns from the first day until she sadly passed away. The nurses treat her with dignity and the utmost respect at all times and the facilities and equipment were excellent. The warming and professional care given to her helped our family at such a sad time. For these reasons I wanted to give something back so here we are.

Any sponsors are muchly appreciated. Wish me luck!!!!!
