Rachel was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation in September 2009, just weeks after marrying Paul.

She has been living away from home since December 2015 whilst she recovers from her latest operation. She is unable to come home because her house requires adjustments so she access the full property. Rachel and Paul have looked into the possibility of moving into a single level property but it would still need some major renovation work to make it wheelchair accessible.

As a family, we have never asked for support; we have simply just gotten on with it.

Paul spends the majority of his time either in work or visiting Rachel. Neither of them have a life together outside a couple of hours per week through visiting. That isn't right. They both deserve better.

That's where we all come in. She has a large family and a huge network of friends. We can make a difference to Rachel and Paul's lives by getting her back home.

I recently started a personal challenge by walking 1,000,000 steps. This is nearly complete. I have only a couple of thousand steps remaining but it isn't enough.
