As part of my barmitzvah I have chosen to cycle 20 KM on the 7th October, with my dad as quickly as my legs will allow me to. I am going to be cycling from home to Stratford and then around the Olympic park; hopefully I will make it back again .

I am doing this as part of my barmitzvah as a mitzvah to raise money for the Beit Issie Shapiro charity. This charity is also being supported by my shul, Woodford Forest Synagogue. Beit Issie Shapiro charity raises money to purchase iPads which help children with disabilities across Israel including both Arab and Jewish children, to learn and talk and open up methods of communication not otherwise available to them. I chose this charity because it helps many children with speech and language difficulties and my mum is a speech and language therapist who spends her time also helping similar families.

I don’t know how much money I would need to raise to purchase an Ipad but if it puts a smile on their face then it would put a smile on my face too.
