Two weeks ago the lives of Harvey and McKenzie fell apart after their mum died suddenly and unexpectedly. Harvey aged 14 and McKenzie aged 12 lived with their mum full time, since her death they have been under the guardianship of their dad, however, dad lives with his parents and there is not enough room for the family to be together. Therefore, McKenzie and Harvey are spending most of the time separately, they and their dad are desperate to raise the money in order to secure a property to live together. Their dad works full time but could never have planned financially for this tragic event.

McKenzie became part of our lives around four years ago at a time that my daughter was struggling at school, she became and remains to be the friend that every parent hopes for. They have a friendship based upon things that many adults forget, respect and acceptance and give each other the space to be their true selves. McKenzie is spending most of the week with us at the moment but she needs to be with her dad and her brother to give them a chance to grieve for their mum together and start to heal.
