    Story

In 2012 my friend Millie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a single mum to her son Nicholas, who is 8 years old now. She wanted to live for him and did everything then to survive. Not only did she survive, but she was able to live a full and active life again. Those who know Millie will know her journey with this. She also wrote an inspiring and motivational a book "When cancer saved my life" to help others conquer the disease with fortitude and a positive and sustained attitude and she even raised money for a breast cancer charity to give back. In May 2018 she received the shocking news that the cancer had returned, not just in the breast but also in the liver and lungs too. Independently, she has done amazing things to give herself the best fighting chance to beat the disease by treatment at home and abroad. We, her friends and family don’t know anyone who has such brilliant equilibrium and inner strength and with guts to dig deep when needed. Sadly, all of this has not been enough and today Millie received further shocking news that the journey ahead is tougher than she hoped. Please help us raise funds for her treatment at a specialist cancer clinic. Millie has raised the funds for her treatment before through her own resources and all on her own, but doing this a second time is not easy as a single mum. Like all mothers she wants to be around to raise her son Nicholas and see him grow into a wonderful young man and individual. I know Millie as a wonderful and very caring friend who was always there for me, when I needed her. Millie has helped others in the past and now she needs help herself. Please help her to get the urgently needed treatment and to overcome this dreadful disease, so she can be there for her son. Our goal is to raise £7,000 to pay for the treatment which given her serious condition needs to happen as soon as possible. Thank you for your generous donation.

My bio is not important in this context, as I am not raising the money for myself. All that I would mention here is that I met Millie shortly after I moved to London in 2012 and she became one of my first and best friends here.
