Story
On Sunday 17th February I will be running the Wrexham Village Bakery half marathon and am hoping to raise money for FrienDS Support Group.
FrienDS Support Group is run by a small number of parents local to the Wrexham area who have a child with Down Syndrome. We aim to offer advice and support to each other and to new families. Over the past couple of years we have also started organising training events, for both parents and professionals to attend, to ensure our children are getting the best possible support in their education and are able to reach their full potential. To continue organising these events we need to fundraise, so any donation, no matter how small it may seem, is hugely appreciated.
As a total beginner to running 15 months ago I completed couch-to-5k and have gradually built up the distance I can run, I have now set myself the challenge of running the half marathon.
If I can raise a little extra money to support this local group so close to our hearts then that would definitely make it worthwhile!
Thank you for reading.
