Weʼve raised £310 to Install and maintain Clayton West community defibrillator
- Funded on Tuesday, 31st December 2019
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
The community of Clayton West have managed to raise funds for a public access defibrilator which has been installed outside the Woodman Inn.
This is great news for our village but there have been some costs uncovered by the fundraising, and there will be ongoing costs to be covered for batteries and consumables.
Installation has cost just shy of £200, each set of defibrillator pads cost £36, and in 5 years a new battery will be required costing an eyewatering £150!
I am the contact person for this defib, and am happy to maintain this vital piece of equipment. Please make a contribution to help keep the equipment available for our community. I will keep records of all income and expenditure if anyone wants to see where the money is going.
Thanks,
Adrian

5 years agoThanks everybody who has donated, we have now covered the costs of installation. The main ongoing expense is the pads, which are single use. Each defibrillator manufacturer uses proprietary plugs / sockets which means they can charge what they like for pads. However I have found converter cables which mean cheaper, but just as effective, pads can be used. This is the next purchase aim. Thanks Adrian
