    Story

This year the Willmott Dixon Legacy Foundation Challenge will see the people of Wales & West take on the Coast to Coast Challenge, making our way along the 1,200 miles of coastal path in our region, from Aberystwyth to our Exeter Office.

The aims of Willmott Dixon’s annual Legacy Foundation Challenge is to provide an LCO wide community activity which will have a significant impact on a community beneficiary and further raise the profile of the Foundation.

Broken down into sections, 14 teams will tackle each stretch of coastline relying solely on muscle power alone.

Whether it’s running, walking, cyling, riding or paddling, we’ll be passing on the Legacy Baton from our 2016 challenge until we reach the finish line at our new office in Exeter.

We’ll be involving our customers and the communities in which we have worked previously as we raise awareness about plastic pollution through our beach cleans and fundraise money for LandAid in a bid to end youth homelessness at our Legacy Project at East Street Mews, Bristol. By traversing from Coast to Coast, beach cleaning along the way, we hope to inspire young people, tackle social exclusion and transform a community through our work at East Street Mews.

Much like 2015’s Baton Relay, this year our challenge is bigger and better, focusing more on teamwork, doing our bit for the environment and raising money, of course. Exercise, the great outdoors and opportunities for adventure, you can take on as much or little as you are able. This is not just about Willmott Dixon; throughout the summer our Supply Chain, children, dogs, friends and family can all do their bit – everyone’s invited!
