COFFEE & COMPUTERS is a voluntary Community Trust providing a free social service for those with difficulty in using smartphones, tablets and computers to enhance their quality of life.

Most of our users are elderly and find "tech" to be an obstacle when trying to maintain contact with "younger" family & friends; communicating online with local & central government agencies and booking train journeys, flights and making NHS appointments. We have grown to offer 12 sessions each month at 8 venues across Haringey and all sessions are free and run by volunteers. Apart from the quality of our Volunteer team, our success can be attributed to our "group sharing" approach: We start with a group discussion to share difficulties and hopes, then break-out into personal learning (one-to-one/small group) where most attendees soon acquire the confidence and the basic skills that enable them to access the internet, send/receive email with attachments, fill-in forms, exchange photos with family & friends etc.

Funds raised previously have enabled COFFEE & COMPUTERS to acquire our own internet domain; build our own website (www.coffeecomputers.org ); have C&C mailbox addresses for each key person within C&C; acquire and run mi-fi equipment to provide consistent, easy-to-use internet connections at all venues; add new sessions (frequency is a key component of successful learning) and create printed support materials. Over 20 clients came to our recent AGM to thank the team and to guide the development of C&C to become even more helpful in overcoming learning issues.

FUNDS ARE NOW VERY LOW. FRESH FUNDING IS NEEDED FOR 2019 to maintain existing sessions and venues; service and extend our vital mi-fi resource; acquire a small projector & screen; publish more support materials; support the team of volunteers upon which Coffee & Computers totally depends and extend our winning model beyond Haringey
