We wish to convert one of the classrooms into an enrichment room where the school and community groups can run cooking classes and other life skills classes for children from the school and the members of the local community.

Food is a large part of the economy in Scotland and especially in the Scottish Borders where we live and it's important our children grow up understanding food and learning to prepare a range of nutritious meals and snacks. The space will also be fitted so that it can be used for other kinds of creative work such as crafts and technology.

We are a very small school - just 69 pupils - and the Parents and Friends Association has been raising funds for this project for a number of years. So far we've raised almost £8,000 - that's a lot of cake sales, Spring fayres, Christmas raffles and the like. We're now on the last push and need to raise the final £2,500 to help bring this dream to fruition.
