The poor street children and orphans of Manak, a village outside of Lahore, are supported in a variety of ways by One World Welfare Organization (OWWO). They, together with adults who are also struggling way below the poverty line, need so much. Many live their lives in a daily struggle just to see another day, at this time of year. Seasons aren't enjoyed in this part of the world, they're endured.

OWWO's current drive is to provide summer clothes and bed sheets for as many of those in most need, as possible after providing them the warm clothes for last winter. It helps them to maintain a level of independence as well as being able to keep their dignity and need. We also want to enhance their summer diet by providing juice, fruit and nuts as often as possible which helps them to survive and fight against the very hot weather of Pakistan. We financially funded that all by our self and some of our friends from UK time to time help us too. As we started to grow, needs also grew and the funds also need to grow. To do this, we need your help. We have only limited regular funds, most of which is used to run our school in Manak.

We've been here for more than a year, which most said would not happen. Our school, against great odds, has just celebrated it's 1st birthday. OWWO has gained the respect of the predominant Muslim community, and our continued presence sets us apart from all other such organizations - especially local orphanages - which perpetually ask for money. We've lot of expenses running a charity. We have to pay rent on the building, utility bills, medical supplies, clothing, school supplies, sometimes monetary gift if necessary, etc.

The children are the usual combination of little angels/naughty. They're like any other child, anywhere in the world; except that most are nutritionally starved. The women especially have a tough life keeping house and home together, and it is the mothers who are the advocates for their children's education.

Please help us to give them a Summer gift of coolness/ warmth of your love. I don't want them to spend this Summer in a packed room due to hot weather and if no electricity then naked on the roads and streets. Do you? We are humbly asking you for help; no amount is too small. We want to give these poor and orphan kids a chance in life, educate them and set an example of good Christian faith.
