Story
Am trying to raise money for an electric bowls wheelchair so I can carry on playing outside bowls as its a sport I love and it keeps me going even on really bad painful days , I really don't want to give it up but if I'm unsuccessful I will have to give in. As most of my friends know I was born with a physical disability, I've had 40 operations so far.
I started to bowl back in 2010 , at Whissendine BC was my first taste of outdoor Bowls and I love every minute of it , I started indoors in 2015 at Melton mowbray indoor bowls club and when Whissendine BC had to finish I joined Melton Town BC . I joined disability bowls England in 2016 and in 2017 I was voted most improved player , for which I received my trophy from the great Greg Harlow.
I have made great friends through Bowls and DBE competitions are great fun but very competitive which is great . I became a DBE ambassador about 16 months ago but as I did covid struck and everywhere closed, my proudest moment came in 2019 when to my surprise I was voted Melton Times newspaper
Disabled Sportsperson of the year.
And now I'm also an ambassador for MISPA Melton Inclusive Sport and Physical Activity. I hope that I am able to inspire more people especially disabled people to play bowls and I would like so much to become a coach and be able to share the joy of being a bowler with as many people as I can. Bowls really is a sport for everyone. Thank you everyone for helping me so grateful 💗

3 years agoHave just had a great summer bowls both indoors and outdoors with DBE. At Melton IBC I was lucky enough to win 2 out of 4 finals and hopefully next summer if I'm able to get a new wheelchair I will be able to start afresh with a new local out door bowls club . New beginnings hopefully, please help me if you can . I am so proud to be an ambassador for Disability Bowls and also for MISPA promoting disability sport for all .

I was born with a physical disability and ive had 40 corrective surgeries and I suffer with depression and I'm so glad I found bowls because it is the only sport I do where everyone at the start of the match is equal whether old , young, disabled, or able-bodied. #Bowls4All.
