    Story

I'm taking part in the Mumbles Triathlon to raise funds and awareness of the Ethan Perkins Trust. The funds raised will help to provide grants and comfort items for Children with inoperable brain tumours.

    FACTS ABOUT KIDS BRAIN TUMOURS

Did you know that 16,000 people develop a brain tumour every year in the UK and it is the main cause of cancer deaths in children? Brain Tumour research is still in its infancy and grossly underfunded.

    THE WORK OF THE CHARITY

Since launching in 2009, we have helped over 130 families in South Wales and have met some amazing and inspirational parents and children along the way. Some are sadly no longer with us but will always be remembered by everyone at TEPT.

    PROJECTS

Ipads for kids - The purchase of ipads are a regular request for help with speech and language therapy and also help with separation issues from family members.

Room on Rainbow Ward - In the children’s hospital of Wales there is a playroom for created for 11-15 year olds. TEPT funded the budget and the room has now been in use since the end of July.

Special days out and Holiday wishes - Last Christmas we had an amazing day out a Llandow circuit, where we met some wonderful families who had a Christmas and supercar experience.

Every year we send a few families to Eurodisney or Europe to spend some quality time with their loved ones and give them something to look forward to.

Sporting events, Concerts & Weekend breaks - Mascot days are a popular wish for children who are football mad. We also book concert tickets and overnight stays for children.

Research -We also joint funded a 3 year phd student who studied gene silencing therapy for high grade children’s brain tumours. Dr Tracy Warr of the University of Wolverhampton has overseen the project.
