    Story

The volunteers of the Water Search and Rescue Team, are trained to attend certain types of medical emergency calls in the area where they live or work.

We have been lucky to have recieved the support of Mitshubishi Vehicles to help us put a further 12 response vehicles on the road, these vehicles will be used to responde to both medical emergencies and also water emergencies.

This will add to our existing response team.

In the months of August to October the team attended over 189 CPR Emergencies.

On Saturday4th November, a member of the team was in a well known department store, and was looking around, when there was a loud bang and a member of the public went down on the floor, the team member went over, and with the Stores AED, and the team kit he had in his car, was able to bring the member of public back from Cardiac Arrest.

With the extra vehicles we are able to offer more volunteer lead response teams to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives.

Our role is to achieve the best outcome of the three P's

    Preserve Life

    Prevent Deterioration

    Promote Recovery

We are looking to raise money in order for us to put an Advance Life Support medical kit bag on the vehicles, including Oxygen and a Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

    A AED costs us £950

A Medic Pack Cost us £650

To Train 2 Volunteers (the crew in pairs) £1250

Each responder vehicle cost us £2850

If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival chances increase from 6% to 74%

Over 45,000 Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests occur every year in the UK

The Emergency Medical Services and Support Rescue Teams attempted to resuscitate as many people as possible after they suffered an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest.

Approximately 80% of Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests occur at Home; 20% will occur in public places

The current rate of initial bystander CPR in England is reported to be around 43%

12 people under the age of 35 die every week due to sudden cardiac arrest in the UK

270 children die in the UK every year after suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest at school

When someone has a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 7-10%

Without immediate treatment, 90-95% of Sudden Cardiac Arrest victims will die

Please help us to get our new response vehicles on the road, we are truley gratefull to all your suport.
