A number of our Cranmer Hall community park their cars in the Territorial Lane car park, which is owned by Durham University. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, 18 cars were subjected to vandalism, with windscreen wipers being ripped off.

As well as the hassle and frustration of taking time to get their cars repaired, many of those affected have had to pay costs of £200 or more – enough to be a substantial cost for any student, but not enough to claim on insurance.

Some have savings and some can apply for help from hardship funds, but as a college community, we can play our part in supporting those who would be blessed by some help to cover their costs.
