    Story

Big hello to every single one of you.

I am trying to raise money for different causes all related to help animals around the world. On Sunday May 12th Croqueta and I will be running the Muddy Dog Run with one of my colleagues - Kate Musk and her dog Toby. It's short notice but I will be leaving this page open till the end of August hoping we can help as many animals as possible here in England and in other parts of the world.

1 -The Muddy Dog Race is to support Battersea dogs and cats home. We have donated money to this charity several times before and the price of our racing tickets goes directly to them. Battersea dogs and cats home does a great job helping homeless animals in England to find a forever home so if you want to support them, please indicate '1' on your donation and we'll make sure your money reaches them. Also, if you are looking into getting a new pet, please consider helping one of their animals - many dogs and cats need our love and we need them. Consider adopting before buying.

2 - Many of you have heard of Iza's story. I met Pedro while on a weekend in Valencia, Spain, during our annual Medivet Carpenders Park team mini holiday together (where I take my nurses away to show them my appreciation for the hard work they do for all the animals in the practice). White there, we saw Pedro asking for money on the street and noticed he had a beautiful kitten with him. During the next three days I got to learn about Pedro's life and how Iza had become his best and most loyal friend. Unfortunately, Pedro is homeless and hasn't got much money, so I got in touch with his local vet and organised everything so Iza would get her kitten vaccinations, flea and worming treatment done. Iza is now 6 months old and needs to be spayed. Many people wanted to donate money for her previous treatment but it was not necessary at the time. If you want to donate towards her spay (€250), just put a number "2" on your donation and I will make sure this money reaches her treatment. If we reach more of the €250 needed, the rest of the money will go towards other pets of homeless people (Street Vets or similar). Pedro cried when I paid for Iza's vaccinations, getting any help towards Iza's medical care will mean the world to him.

3 - Kitty Kat Rescue in South Oxhey - I think it was about time I started to help this amazing rescue centre which we do help on many occasions but still needs plenty of help from many of us. Dawn Lewis runs this charity. She works day and night looking for lost animals (dogs, cats, bunnies and even birds), paying for poorly animals that need veterinary treatment, helping people that need to re-home their animals due to unexpected circumstances, etc. Her job is invaluable for our community and many animals owe her a happy ending story. She wants to do more but sometimes money is short, so if you want to donate money towards her work, please put a number "3" on your donation and I will make sure the money reaches her and her charity.

4 - BAWA - Bali Animals Welfare Association. OK, this is a charity that many of you don't know about, but since I spent 10 days in Bali feeling devastated because how the dogs and cats were treated there, I promised I would try to do more than to give scabies treatment to the animals I found on my way. Bali is a beautiful place but a terrible place at the same time. You find hundreds of dogs on the streets, emaciated, with no fur, full of scabs and bleeding. Many get run over by drivers and then taken away to be eaten (this is normal over there, difficult to believe, but it does happen). There are so many on the streets that charities like BAWA find it very challenging to help them all due to lack of money, people or space. Several clients of us have rescued dogs from Romania, Spain, Portugal, Egypt and even Russia. The problem with Bali is that it is extremely difficult to get dogs or cats out of the Island, so the best change they have is to get help while in there. If you have been in a country where dogs are dying of hunger and illness on the streets without even being noticed, you'll know how much your donation will mean to these animals in Bali. If you want your money to go towards BAWA, please put the number "4" on your donation and I will make sure it reaches them.

As I write these four charities hundreds of other charities come to my mind. I want to help the environment, I want to help to prevent contamination, I want to help our community, stop poverty, child abuse, gender abuse, help homeless people, etc. There are so many things to work on and projects to support, that probably the idea of all these possibilities has prevented me from starting due to feeling overwhelmed. So I finally chose these 4 charities for now. Maybe in the future I will try to help different ones, but what matters is that we work together towards something, and we do it now.

Thanks for your support. Let's help each other, let's be kind, let's spread the love.

    Thank you and Much LOVE.

It's a brilliant cause. So many animals and pets suffer needlessly and need our support and love.

No.2. Homeless people with pets find ways to provide food, water, and companionship. Without their human companions, pets could often end up living alone as strays or euthanised.
