Weʼve raised £200 to help Hywel Dda Community Children's Nursing Team purchase vital training equipment to support children with complex care needs in West Wales

    Story

My wife Nerys is a Community Children's Nurse working for Hywel Dda University Health Board. She and her team perform a vital role caring for and providing support for seriously ill children and their families and carers, within their communities, at home, and at school across the whole of Mid and South West Wales. I am extremely proud of the work she does.

I'm racing across the Irish Sea in a Celtic Long Boat in a weeks time and want to raise money to enable the nursing team to purchase vital training equipment to help them train parents, carers, teachers, and indeed the children themselves in the routine management and treatment of their conditions.

By helping families and carers better monitor and manage conditions (and thereby minimise time spent away from their families and school friends) the team can help further improve the quality of life of seriously ill children in Mid and South West Wales.

Please help me raise as much money as possible for the team to invest in these vital training resources.
