Salutations friends and fiends.
It's the second day of the third month. My birthday. THE BIG FOUR-O. It seems to me that 40 is the fulcrum of middle age. I sit astride the see-saw and wonder if I possess more yesterdays than tomorrows. My birthday is apt to ponder my deathday. I'm not afraid because I'm already dead.
Allow me to explain...
What time is death? That was the question I was posed by the cosmic japesters formerly known as The KLF, now known as Callender, Callender, Cauty and Drummond, forever known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. They've reincarnated themselves as undertakers and want me to ponder my mortality.

The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu are building a pyramid. It will be called The People's Pyramid. The People’s Pyramid is to be built in Toxteth, Liverpool. The People's Pyramid will be 23 feet high. The People's Pyramid will be constructed of 34,592 bricks. They will be called Bricks of Mu. Each brick in the pyramid will contain 23 grams of the cremated remains of a dead person. This process is called MuMufication. MuMufication is the act of having a small portion of your cremated remains fired in a Brick of Mu. MuMufied is what you will be after the act of MuMufication has been carried out. The Toxteth Day of the Dead will be on the 23rd of November each year. On each Toxteth Day of the Dead, bricks MuMufied in the previous twelve months will be laid by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. The Toxteth Day of the Dead will be marked on the same date, every year thereafter, in a variety of ways.
I want to be one of those dead people in one of those bricks in that pyramid.
If it seems a bit morbid, it isn't. If it seems a bit crackers, it is. If it seems a bit like a preposterous pyramid scheme, it deffo is. We all make our own meaning, and buried in the foundations of The People's Pyramid, I've unearthed something deeply profound.
One brick costs £99. There's no more meaningful way to buy it than ask the people I know and love in life to join me in death. All I ask is for you to chip in £2.30. No more, no less. Once purchased, my Brick of Mu will adorn my mantelpiece, awaiting my cremated remains some time hence, and reminding me that I'm a finite speck of stardust floating through infinite time.
