The Welsh Ambulance Service uses a system called ‘GoodSAM’ (Smartphone Activated Medics), to alert volunteers such as myself, to life threatening 999 calls. So even if I’m not ‘on a shift’, I will know if there’s an emergency in our community.

Although I’ll be alerted if you or someone in the community calls 999 for a life threatening situation, I may not always have the necessary response kit with me to save a life, as we share resources between volunteers. So I'd like to buy a life saving 'First Response' kit, to always have with me - for use within our community.

I have already been approved by the charity Welsh Hearts, to purchase a defibrillator through them - but I need to raise a minimum of £995 (that’s just the for the defibrillator!).

My target is to raise £2000 to purchase a complete kit. Any money raised which is not spent on this, will be donated to the Welsh Ambulance Service's North Cardiff CFR Scheme.

As a thank you for all the kind donations, I will be delivering CPR training sessions for FREE in the community, continuing throughout 2019. Watch this space for details!
