    Story

As a regular team lead on the Himalaya, I have led a number of climbs on many of the mountains.

For most, whether they summit or not, they return with a feeling of achievement - and the company for whom I carry out this work does a lot to benefit the local communities in the process.

Sadly though, not everyone makes it back safely. Sometimes through illness ar accident, climbers and Sherpas both can succumb to the harsh environment of the Himalaya.

Of late, there has been a lot of news about mountain clean up work, to remove the rubbish left by some rather less thoughtful climbers, and to remove the bodies of those who have fallen along the way.

The work of removing the bodies is a necessary one, not just for the sake of "tidying", but closure for some families and at the very least, a reduction in the pain felt by the bereaved who see their loved ones being treated as waypoints; or photographs shared online by those who fail to recognise that their unfortunate subject may well have living relatives who are put through hell, each time a new picture emerges.

Some families know where their loved one has been lost and can arrange the costly process of an expedition to recover and repatriate the body. Others are not so fortunate

On my current expedition, I have encountered one such individual. I intend to return to his current resting place shortly, and at the very least, get him decently covered. I have the equipment necessary for this task.

However, I would like to do more, and recover his body from its current location on Everest, to Base Camp, where I hope formal identification can be made and his family contacted. I would also like to either provide repatriation or burial as per the family's wishes, all of which costs money.

So I am looking for assistance from as many as possible, to get this person at least known again.

I will provide supporters details of the expedition along the way. Photos of personal belongings may be taken to aid identification.
