I am participating in the Great Aberdeen half marathon as well as Beast race in Banchory this year to raise funds for a special bed for my niece which would ultimately change her life! She has a rare genetic condition called Smith– Magenis Syndrome (SMS).

Every time I talk to someone about SMS I am met with a blank stare as most people have never heard of it, therefore I would love to change this and raise awareness of the condition as SMS affects between 1 in 15,000 and 1 in 25,000 individuals every year .

The bed she requires costs £3395 is called a safety sleeper and is designed to keep her safe. Anyone knows Molly will know that she often gets up to mischief at night and can often do things which would terrify most parents. Funding so far via a charity has been unsuccessful however if funding is secured all donations will be donated directly to the SMS foundation who do a fantastic job!
