I have set this page up to help raise £19,000 for my cousin Danielle who needs a major operation ASAP on her legs and arms.

Danielle is suffering with Lipedemia which is a long-term (chronic) condition involving an abnormal build-up of fat cells in the legs, thighs, buttocks & arms.

Her legs have become very enlarged from the ankles up to the hips, her arms are also affected.

The feet are not affected but this creates a ‘bracelet’ effect or ‘band-like’ appearance just above the ankles.

The degree of enlargement caused by Lipedemia can gradually worsen over time which is why I have set this page to help Danielle raise this money as quickly as possible to get her well on the way to the surgery in Hull.

As well as Danielle becoming enlarged, affected areas of her body feel soft and cold, tender to touch & she is very easily bruised, her body just aches each day.

The condition can progress to cause fluid retention (lymphoedema) in both legs.

The combination of these symptoms can lead to reduced mobility and psychological issues.

Although the accumulation of fat tends to be worse in people who are obese, the condition is not caused by obesity and can affect people who are a normal weight. It should not be mistaken for obesity, as dieting often makes little difference to the condition.

So please.. PLEASE donate whatever you can - it all adds up and helps Danielle on her way to the major surgery she urgently needs - £19,000 will get her the new legs and arms that she needs.
