My mother-in-law Jane Hollis unexpectedly and suddenly passed away on 20th July this year at the young age of 65.

I have competed the Great North Run for the last 3 years which is arguably the Worlds most challenging half-marathon. It starts in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and weaves its way through Gatesheads and finishes 13.1 hilly miles later on the sea front at South Shields. This years event will take place on 9th September.

For the last 2 years I have raised money for cancers charities - something that is very close to my heart and obviously effects a lot of people. However, this year will be slightly different. The family would like to arrange the erection of a memorial bench in Bingham cemetary, where Jane will be laid to rest very soon with her husband Jim, whom passed away less than 3 years ago. It would not only serve as a tribute to a kind and caring lady but would be a place where people and go and reflect upon their memories of Jane and other family members and friends that are laid to rest there.

Thank you to all of those who made a monetray donation in lieu of flowers at Jane's funeral, however we are still around £600 short of the target in order to get a memorial bench placed at Bingham cemetary.

Please give generously (or whatever you can afford) to make the gruling 13.1 miles worthwhile.
