As many of you know already I am off to South Africa in a month to help on a reserve that dedicate their lives to Rhinos.

Rhinos as a species are rapidly reaching a stage where irreplaceable damage could Easily threaten their existence in the not too distant future. The reason for this?Poaching.

Rhinos are killed for the horn that they carry. The horn is believed to be a cure for cancers and other medical conditions, throughout Asia. This is completely false, with the horn actually consisting of keratin, Which is exactly the same substance that makes our hair and nails! The horn has an extortionate value which attracts the interest in the poaching. They are brutally attacked with the horn hacked off in the most barbaric ways you could possibly Imagine. Once the horn has been hacked off the animal is left to die, screaming in pain with half of its face now non existent. Sadly throughout South Africa this has become a daily occurrence.

I am looking to raise £250 to take over to the reserve In a months time. Anything at all would be massively apprieciated. The money will be used to help the day-to-day running of the reserve, allowing funds to buy equipment and also update any old that need replacing. £250 is the target, if more can be achieved that would be absolutely incredible!
