Dad was diagnosed with Liver cancer on the 28th March after visiting his doctors for feeling tired and unwell. By the end of April we were informed that the cancer had spread, and on Wednesday the 1st May he was informed he was terminal. 48 hours later, Dad had passed.

During this time Dad had not received any support from any cancer charity as he had not received formal diagnosis. An appointment was booked for Tuesday 7th May where Palliative treatment was to be discussed and paperwork was to be issued, however we never made that appointment. At the allotted appointment time we were instead discussing his funeral with a local funeral parlour. All the support that is out there unfortunately was not available to our Dad as he had not received the appropriate paperwork in time. It is because of this we will not be making a donation to any cancer charity as we feel he has been let down by the system. As such, any money raised will be spent on a bloody good send off and to remember his life, not his death.
