I have the most amazing opportunity to go on a field trip with Sheffield Hallam University to the Lebanon to make 3 short documentaries about the refugee camps. (full info below). I need to raise money to help pay for the trip, £800 is funded, however I am a little short of the £1200 needed to go. All money donated is to pay for the trip, any extra will go to buy much needed items for the refugees.

International humanitarian aid experience and a unique insight into life in Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon (these may include Sidon, Bekaa Valley and Tire). We will be working in teams to create 3x7 minute media projects themed around displacement and refugee rights.

This January, The Guardian reported that at least 15 children have died & approx 22,000 refugees have lost tents and belongings in storms and snowfall that have flooded hundreds of camps.

Longer term, the project aim is to forge links with and build on SHU engagement with international refugee communities in Lebanon, LAU, the British Council and that the University can grow the number of students engaging with issues and barriers faced by refugees, support educational outreach to displaced communities and develop long term collaborative creative projects.
