Story
You may be aware of the outstanding work carried out in November 2017 by a party of twenty four senior pupils, supported by staff from schools and the education department. They dug fields and planted crops, painted school classrooms, fitted new playground equipment and tirelessly entertained the children of the village of Kaponda. This work was carried out on behalf of the Betty Cunningham International Trust, which has been enriching the lives of the people of Kaponda for many years. Malawi is now officially the poorest country in the world. Despite foreign aid, the people of Malawi continue to need all the help we can provide.
The Malawi 2018 trip will take place in October. Previous groups acknowledge that their trips would not have happened without the huge generosity and support of school communities across East Renfrewshire. Once again, individually and as a group, participants are responsible for raising significant amounts of funding in order to take part and will have to make a firm commitment to this process before being selected. Your donation will help to fund this important work.
