This is my nephew Harrison, at the age of 4 he was diagnosed at The Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne with a Brain Tumour.

The staff at The Great North Children’s Hospital have been fantastic with Harrison and have helped support both Harrison, his mother Diane and our family during this difficult time.

Following Harrison’s first diagnosis in 2015 the tumour was removed and treated with Proton Beam Therapy treatment in the USA, the tumour then returned in 2017 and Harrison had a second operation to remove it followed by Radiotherapy treatment, these treatments were successful at the time but unfortunately the cancer is aggressive and has returned for a third time. Harrison is currently now back at The Great North Children’s Hospital where he is spending his 7th Birthday undergoing another operation to remove the tumour.

I am organising a sponsored event to raise funds to help aid Harrison’s recovery. My best mate Jon and I are going to walk up to the summit of Ben Nevis on Friday 27th July.

We are looking to raise enough money to help Diane and Harrison during this time and to hopefully ease the strain a bit, especially as Diane has not been able to work since Harrison was diagnosed.
