Hi, my name is Dave. I'm coming upto my 60th birthday. I've been active all my life playing and coaching sports to both children and adults. I have worked all my Life and served my country in the Territorial Army for 37 years, Until now. Whilst in the TA I did the 3 peaks challenge in 24 and raised over £900 for cancer & the army.

I recently visited the doctor & radiologist with a lump in my neck to be told it was nothing to worry about. But l still needed to go for a second test. This would include a needle sample.

The results came a week later, only to be told its cancer. I now have to attend hospital for a MRI scan, biopsy and other tests and scans. The next 6 weeks will be an important wait, not knowing, worrying if I've got time, or a future.

The most important thing in my life at present is my 12 year old daughter whom I idolise. I so want to see her reach 21 or even get married. I have already supported Macmillan, Cancer research UK and other charities.
