As a Consultant Physician, our Dad,  Doctor  David  John Jones, dedicated much of his life to the care of others. His expertise and passion had a life-changing impact on the people he treated. We’re incredibly proud of Dad’s achievements and the positive impact of his work.

We’re equally proud and thankful to him for being the Dad he was. He taught us so much; strong values, a love of boating, rugby, skiing – and so much more. His grandchildren have enjoyed many times with David too. Dad’s love for his grandchildren was tangible, and brought him so much joy.

When Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015, it was devastating news for him, and our family. From the outset, Dad took a proactive stance, determined to take every action to tackle the disease head-on. He kept this fighting spirit right to the end.

Dad came across the work of Professor Johann de Bono, a professor in Experimental Cancer Medicine at The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.  He leads the Prostate Cancer Targeted Therapy Group and the Cancer Biomarkers laboratory team.

It was Dad’s wish to raise funds for Professor de Bono’s research. He believed that this research was critical in the fight against this cruel disease that affects so many.

Seeing Dad live with, and die of prostate cancer has been heart-breaking. We would be hugely appreciative of your contributions that will go towards finding more effective treatments for this awful disease.
