My brother and I are making this appeal on behalf of our mother Stella. Mum will be 100 years old this year and for the last two years has lived in a lovely nursing home where the staff are caring and brilliant with her. To fund her stay she sold her flat and, sad to say, the funds are running out, £5000 per month and worth every penny; we cannot fault it. We are both on a pension and don't have any funds to top up, so the only option is for her to be taken away from her comfortable environment into a council-run nursing home, the thought of her being uprooted from her comfortable surroundings which is a huge worry to us; for somebody at such a great age we don’t think she would get over it.
