The Air Cadets provide individuals between the ages of 12 and 20 with second-to-none experiences, the opportunity to make lasting friendships and build upon your confidence, skills and achievements within a structured environment.

Run by volunteers, the 1163 Colne Valley Squadron ATC do a fantastic job with limited resources, to provide opportunities for young cadets from the Halstead and surrounding villages to experience activities such as: archery, canoeing, climbing, expedition camps, field craft, flying, gliding, marches, sport (football, athletics) etc, in addition to undertaking leadership courses, Duke of Edinburgh (bronze, silver & gold awards), overseas camps and activities as well as local and national parades. Our cadets also help and support local community events.

Many of these events are heavily subsidised, and these subsidies are only available through the various fund raising activities organised and undertaken by the squadron civilian committee and supported by staff and cadets.

I am aiming to raise £250 towards the 1163 Colne Valley Squadron ATC Welfare Fund which is administered by the squadron civilian committee for the benefit of the cadets.

To do this I have decided to take part in the Birmingham and Midlands Velo on the 12th May 2019. I'm taking part in the 100 mile cycle ride and it will make all the pain, sweat and tears worth while if you could make a donation and help me hit my target of £250 for this great cause.

Any amount no matter how small (or large!) is greatly appreciated. I'll provide pics from the event on the day, as well as a pic with me showing off my medal for completing the ride!
