Story
David is 17 years old and has been suffering with a rare condition called ‘Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome’ for over 8 months (starting January 2018). This condition causes him huge amounts of pain often described as “being stung by stinging nettles constantly” or “burning under the skin” commonly causing him to scream in pain during the night. With this condition, David has been emitted into hospital twice (once for two weeks and the other for one week) and has had numerous trips to A&E. David and his family have spoken to various different specialists who have tried him with different creams and medication, however, none seem to have a long-term effect.
David’s condition puts a huge restriction on his life including finding it hard to go to college, work or even eat or sleep. With the money raised, David may be able to be helped by a private skin specialist.
Thank you for any help given.
