Story
In Memory of Frank Henry Hugh
In October 2018 my friends had a baby boy called Frank Henry Hugh. Sadly Frank was stillborn. Feeling absolutely devastated for my friends, I decided I'd like to do something to help. I was already signed up to the Worthing Half Marathon in February 2019 so I decided to turn it into a fundraising event. My friends have asked me to raise money for the Butterfly Suite at the maternity unit of Winchester Hospital. This special suite allowed them to grieve for their baby boy away from the main maternity unit whilst being supported by the specialist team of bereavement midwives. I know it gave them some comfort at this devastating time of their lives and we'd like to raise money to ensure it continues to support other families in this situation. We'd appreciate any donation you feel you can make to this cause.

5 years agoWell, the weekend of the Eastleigh 10k is here. I'm feeling pretty nervous as I've not managed to do as much training as I would have liked. I'm determined to get round regardless of how long it takes me. I'll post an update on Sunday afternoon to let you all know how I get on. Thank you all once again for your amazing support. xx

5 years agoI’m writing this with a heavy heart but I’m going to pull out of the 1/2 marathon. I’ve been fighting an injury for the last few weeks. I’ve been doing some strength training at the Southampton Running School but I ran a 5k at the weekend and it was painful. I don’t want to risk further injury by doing the 1/2 marathon and I’m not sure I’d manage the distance. Please know that I’ve not made this decision lightly. My plan is to transfer the fundraising to the Eastleigh 10k at the end of March as long as everyone is still happy to sponsor me.
