Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be doing the 2018 Wales Ironman plus other fund raising events and I am doing this sporting event to raise awareness and money for 2 exceptionally brave and exemplary men who through adversity have worked tirelessly to help raise awareness for their individual causes. First is Paul Pugh, who was left in a coma for months following the unprovoked assault in Ammanford town Centre, on January 6, 2007, for which four men were jailed.
Despite the fact that he will never fully recover from injuries that left him having to learn how to walk and talk again, Paul is bravely using his experience to campaign against alcohol-fueled violence (Paul’s Pledge). Paul’s main ambitions are to continue promoting Paul’s Pledge and to live independently on his own. All donations will go directly to Paul and his family as the entry fees and all other fees have been covered by myself.
The late Ryan Davies was an Acute Myeloid Leukaemia patient. During his 10 year battle with cancer he dedicated his time to set up the charity Ryan4Leukaemia.
So far Ryan's charity has raised and donated £40,000 to local hospitals and cancer wards including PPH Llanelli, Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, Cardiff Heath Hospital, St Thomas Hospital London, Velindre and numerous local people in need of assistance.
Ryan worked tirelessly during his own fight to raise money with a series of events around South West Wales. Ryan's wish before his passing was to hit the target of £50,000. I want to help Ryan's family achieve his wish.
I hope we can fulfil his legacy and continue to help those that need it most during their personal battle with cancer. Let's all continue to help to make others fight slightly more comfortable on behalf of Ryan's legacy.
I'll be organising a number of events to raise money plus taking sponsorships. Please sponsor me, every penny counts, no matter how small a donation.
Thank you so much

6 years agoWhat can I say, yesterday was one of the hardest days I’ve ever had! But what an epic ride with a great bunch of boys. A massive thank you to John Folkesy for organising the ride, without John the ride wouldn’t have happened. A huge thanks to Paul Carddock our support driver, along with Gareth and Andy later on. We would not have done it without you guys. Everyone showed great resilience yesterday, we all had our ups and downs but we got there! Thank you for all your support!

I am a local boy through and through and am also a PCSO in my home town. Paul Pugh and Ryan Davies are two local heros. The two charities they have are something that is very close to my heart as I work closely with Paul Pugh and I knew Ryan as a friend.
