Joshua has down syndrome ( trisomy 21),he is 3 years 5 months old and more or less nil by mouth with a gtube in his belly for milk tube feeds as he aspirates into his lungs,his suck and swallow are classed as moderate risk as it's uncoordinated,he was kindly donated on a short term loan a special adapted positioning cotbed which has since been recalled,he is now in a "normal" cot but still keeps choking and breath holding at night,we have the cot tilted and pillows to raise his head without relief,he's getting more mobile although not yet standing or walking,this concerns me as he could pull up and climb out,we need a specialist cotbed but they are in excess of £2500+ the cotbed he had was ideal it was the BAYCARE SAVI KNUT But unfortunately we can't get any help towards the cost of this.it would also help me immensely as i suffer with ankylosing spondylitis and have fusion in my spine so can't reach/bend to put him in or take him out of bed,this cot raises and the sides open,any help would be much appreciated.thank you for reading.please feel free to share.
