Farmersfield Rest-home for Elderly Donkeys   is one of my most favourite places in the whole world! This charity provides a home for 18 donkeys plus assorted ponies, shetlands and other animals. I want to give something back to this magical place that offers so much to the (mostly) four legged  residents and (mostly) two legged visitors. Over the hot summer I watched as the staff filled countless buckets of water and ran endless hoses to top up field buckets. It is a neverending job to ensure a continuous supply of fresh drinking water in the fields. We did some research and for £500 we can buy and install an automatically filling water trough to span the fence between the two fields. This will save hours of manual work. I have a local plumber and digger driver at the ready to prepare the ground, dig the trench, connect the water supply and place the correct size of trough to service both fields. The trough will self-fill from the mains and keep a steady level using the same principle as a toilet cistern. No more buckets or hoses needed, leaving more time for the staff and volunteers to spend with the donkeys who love all the attention they can get.
