For over 25 years, Jan and Dom Atkinson have been breeding pure bred Crabbet Arabian horses and athletic Labrador dogs at their remote farm in the Lake District hills. Many of their horses and dogs have gone on to compete at the highest standards of endurance and agility, in the U.K. and abroad.

On 25th August 2018, Dom went out to chase some sheep back up the fell and didn’t return. After a frantic search, Jan discovered his lifeless body. Not only has Dom’s untimely death left Jan devastated, but she has no working heating system, a half-completed barn and unfenced fields, along with two litters of puppies and several foals. Her work experience student has returned to France. We want to raise money to mend the heating system, complete the barn, fence the fields and pay critical veterinary bills.

All donations received will go directly to Jan to pay tradespeople and vets. This will help her to continue in business and provide some comfort for her and her precious animals throughout the harsh Lake District winter, until she is back on her feet again.
