Story
Deborah Holmes is an inspirational young women who has bravely fought a battle against Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare and devastating bone cancer since she was 10 years old. She has battled against the odds with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery to remove and prosthetically replace her thigh bone, and several major operations to remove tumours from her head.
Sadly the family, mum Cheryl, Deborah, and her sister's, Ashleigh and Rachel, also lost their beloved father and husband Anthony to cancer in 2015, and continued financial demands have meant that Cheryl has had no choice but to recently sell their family home on top of managing everything else.
Our aim was to raise £10,000 to assist with Deborah’s nutritional wellbeing and to support the family with hope of treatment abroad and visiting family in Canada.
Sadly, however, Deborahs illness has continued to progress and treatment and travel are no longer an option.
Deborah was recently transferred to the care of Demelzas hospice in Kent but the family remain hopeful of a miracle and are currently moving into a new home, which is being prepared with the help of friends with a view of Deborah returning home for her end of life care.
Please help this family whose story is devastating but sadly, real. They always manage to keep a smile on their faces and hope in their hearts. Deborah herself has amazingly fundraised 1000's to benefit others whilst going through this ordeal and now its time to return that.
Your generous fundraising so far has been gratefully received to help with the huge cost of alternative treatments, therapies and support for Deborah to try and beat this in any way she can. But support for the family at this difficult time is still very much needed now and in the coming months, financially and practically.
Your continued support is appreciated.

6 years agoIn the early hours of Sunday the 20th May 2018, Deborah Holmes peacefully passed away after a very courageous and inspirational battle against Ewings Sarcoma. She was at home with her family surrounded by much love, and will live forever in many hearts and memories. A very difficult healing journey lies ahead for her amazing mum, Cheryl, and her two brave and wonderful sister's, Ashleigh and Rachel. We send them our thoughts and love. Xx
